Maryann A. Benjamin began professional dance training and performing at age 8.
Her first job at age 12 was dancing with Sparkids for the Los Angeles Sparks WNBA.
Maryann continued training under some highly regarded dance schools, educators,
and choreographers including, Lula Washington Dance Theater, Dance Theater of Harlem, Alvin Ailey School, Joffrey Ballet, Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and New World School of the Arts. Before marriage and the birth of her son, Maryann performed across the US and abroad dancing and learning special skills in musical theater, synchronized swimming, and aerial acrobatics. Yet, despite excelling in modern, ballet, tap, jazz, praise, African, Latin, and hip-hop dance genres. She has performed on cruise ships, on Tony Awards with "Hairspray" the Broadway Musical, starred in the short film "Brown Ballerina", Latin Grammy Award Show, halftime performances for professional soccer, basketball and football, music videos, award shows, and festivals; yet her greatest contribution has been her giving back to youth.
